野呂昭仁は神奈川を拠点に活動する画家です。像が明確な対象になる前の状態、名付けられる直前の気配を、絵画の中に留めようとしています。
Akihito Noro is a painter based in Kanagawa, Japan. His practice moves between abstraction and figuration, holding images at the unstable moment before they become clear motifs, bodies, landscapes, or narratives.
略歴 / Biography
線、染み、傷、消し跡、偶然の痕跡を重ねながら、人物、風景、動物、器官のように見えるものが、ひとつの対象として固定されない状態を扱っています。絵画は、知覚と物質、生成と崩壊、現れることと消えることのあいだにあります。
Noro's paintings are built through layers, lines, stains, surface injuries, erasures, and chance. Forms that resemble figures, landscapes, animals, or organs appear and disappear without settling into fixed subjects. His work examines the space between perception and matter, generation and decay, appearance and disappearance.
ステートメント / Statement
私の制作は、モチーフが成立する以前の状態を画面に留める試みです。人物、風景、動物、器官のように見えるものも、明確な対象として固定せず、何かになりかけた像として残します。
私の絵画は、名づけられる直前の像と、名づけられた瞬間に失われる気配のあいだにあります。観る人の記憶、感覚、言語、先入観を通じて、像はその都度立ち上がり、また崩れていきます。
My work is an attempt to capture on canvas the state that precedes the formation of a motif. I depict figures, landscapes, animals, or things that resemble organs, not as clearly defined subjects, but as forms in the process of becoming something.
My paintings exist in the space between the form just before it is named and the aura that is lost the moment it is named. Through the viewer's memory, sensation, language, and assumptions, images arise each time and begin to dissolve again.
